Mohawk Valley Cat Fanciers Club was a not-for-profit member club of The Cat Fanciers Association, the world's largest registry for pedigreed felines. The club was established in 1959 and incorporated in 1972. We were a club for cat breeders & exhibitors alike, with a long & colorful history. Former club members are breeders & owners of both pedigree and non-pedigree domestic cats (Household Pets). Our former members' breeds include Maine Coon, Norwegian Forest Cat, Persian and beautiful household pets. Visit the MEMBERS page for more information on our former members and their breeds. The club held an annual show each year over the past 50 years on the 3rd full weekend of September in various locations within the capital district region of upstate New York. The last show was held on September 15th, 2007 at the Schenectady Center City Sportsplex, which is no longer in existence. The club generously supported the following charities with donations of cat food & supplies & monetary proceeds from their annual CAT SHOWS: The Animal Protective Foundation of Schenectady, Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society, Columbia-Greene Humane Society, Saratoga County Animal Shelter, Montgomery County SPCA, Waggin' Tails Pet Rescue and Robin's Nest Rescued Cat Adoptions.
